The price of car parking and its availability has a powerful, yet under appreciated impact on our transport patterns. The Institute for Sensible Transport, in an effort to highlight the latest, evidence-based practice on parking policy brought together over 120 transport professionals to discuss improved methods of dealing with this important issue.
“The High Cost of Free Parking” was held on the 4th November 2010 at the Melbourne Town Hall. This car parking policy seminar featured leading thinkers on car parking strategy and sustainable transport, including Professors’ Donald Shoup (UCLA), Graham Currie and William Young (Monash University).
